Olivia Kaufmann, a current standby of the Broadway hit Mean Girls, will take over the role of Janis Sarkisian full-time beginning on March 10. She will replace original cast member Barrett Wilbert Weed, who will play her final performance at the August Wilson Theatre on March 8.
In addition to Mean Girls, Kaufmann's résumé includes regional turns in Saturday Night Fever, Lizzie, The Theory of Relativity, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and A Midsummer Night's Dream. She is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory.
As previously announced, Chad Burris will also join the Mean Girls company on March 10, taking over the role of Damian Hubbard.
With a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin, Mean Girls features direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw and musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.
